Flik Independent School Dining is seeking an Executive Sous Chef to lead daily kitchen operations at The Waterford School in Sandy, Utah. You will collaborate with the Executive Chef to manage food production, menu development, catering, inventory, and hourly staff, delivering scratch-made, nutritious meals for a K-12 community.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of kitchen management in high-volume settings, strong leadership, and a passion for healthy student dining.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of dynamic culinary or kitchen management in high-volume foodservice.
• Knowledge of scratch cooking, batch production and food cost controls.
• ServSafe certification preferred and knowledge of HACCP guidelines.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and staff supervision.
• Support inventory management, ordering, and minimizing waste.
• Plan and implement menus aligned with nutritional guidelines.
• Lead catering events with focus on quality and presentation.
• Develop new culinary programs in collaboration with the team.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation compliance and allergy protocols.
• Mentor hourly culinary staff and promote a collaborative kitchen culture.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization.
