Job description

Stephen Starr is set to unveil Borromini, his highly anticipated trattoria in the heart of Rittenhouse Square in late summer 2025. Housed in the historic 13,000-square-foot Alison Building at 1805 Walnut Street, Borromini promises to be a landmark dining destination, featuring a menu crafted by acclaimed New York chef Mark Ladner and Executive Chef Julian Baker. With a design that mirrors the energy of Parc, Borromini will offer an immersive Italian dining experience across two floors, complemented by an expansive sidewalk café.

The team is in search of a dynamic Executive Sous Chef who is excited to be part of a large, passionate, cohesive team providing genuine hospitality to create memorable dining experiences.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire, teach, and coach restaurant employees
  • 4+ years of kitchen leadership experience as an Executive Sous Chef or CDC in high-volume, well-rated restaurants
  • Excellent time management and supervisory skills in a large space
  • An Associate's degree from a culinary-focused university is a plus
  • Experience with traditional Italian cuisine and wood-oven pizza
  • Basic PC knowledge and comprehension (Word, Excel, scheduling software, OpenTable, Applicant Tracking / Onboarding HR systems)
  • A love for Italian cuisine and culture
