Qualifications

• 3-5 years previous experience as Sous Chef in a similar restaurant.
• Able to manage kitchen staff effectively and delegate responsibilities.
• Experience in Mediterranean cuisine is a plus.

• Monitor food cost, labor cost, and inventory.
• Ensure kitchen operations run smoothly in the absence of the Exec Chef.

Base pay range

$65,000.00/yr - $75,000.00/yr

Barbuzzo Restaurant is accepting resumes for Executive Sous Chef for our well known restaurant in Center City, Philadelphia. We are looking for a passionate & creative Chef who can bring their love of Mediterranean cuisine (including house made/extruded pasta, wood fired cooking, Neapolitan style pizza) to Barbuzzo and complement our rustic menu. Candidate will be able to work with our Executive Chef + Culinary Director for training of the existing operation. Our team works very hard in a busy, fast paced, positive environment. We are looking for an Executive Sous Chef who can learn and grow with us. Advancement Opportunity for the right person.

You must be Serv Safe Certified in PA!

Compensation details:

• competitive salary
• 2 weeks paid vacation, 1 week every six months

Ideal candidate will:

• have 3-5 years previous experience as Sous Chef in a similar, fast paced restaurant.
• possess solid leadership of the Barbuzzo restaurant culinary operation in absence of Exec Chef
• have a positive presence throughout the restaurant.
• be able to manage kitchen staff effectively & delegate responsibilities to the team
• be an effective problem solver
• communicate job expectations & manage employee performance.
