Job summary

Nbutexas is seeking an Executive Sous Chef to lead culinary operations for a nationally recognized Boston hotel. This hands-on role demands excellence in both restaurant and banquet contexts, with a focus on team development and delivering exceptional dining experiences.

The candidate will oversee large kitchen teams, manage food cost and scheduling, and collaborate with the Executive Chef to maintain luxury standards across multiple venues and high-profile events.

Qualifications

  • Senior culinary leader with minimum 4 years in high-volume hotel settings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily kitchen operations across restaurant and banquet venues.
  • Develop culinary talent and mentor junior chefs and managers.
  • Ensure luxury standards and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Partner with Executive Chef to drive menu development and event execution.
  • Manage food cost, labor, and inventory with rigorous controls.

Executive Sous Chef Requirements & Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of culinary management experience in a high-volume, full-service hotel
  • Experience overseeing both restaurant and banquet culinary operations
  • Previous experience supervising culinary managers and large kitchen teams
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills
  • Strong financial acumen including food cost, labor management, payroll, and budgeting
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing, inventory, receiving, and cost controls
  • ServSafe Food Manager Certification required
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Union experience preferred
  • Strong computer proficiency and administrative skills
  • Willing to live and work in Boston, MA.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events

  • Luxury hotel or Four/Five Diamond culinary experience
  • Multi-outlet culinary leadership
