Job Description
General Definition of Work
The Executive Services Officer, under minimal supervision, performs senior-level work with extensive decision-making discretion providing oversight of operations, priorities, and administrative functions supporting the Office of the Superintendent. This position serves as a trusted advisor and key operational leader, ensuring alignment between strategic priorities, governance processes, and organizational operations. Position also provides broad administrative experience in the day-to-day operations of the Superintendent’s Office. Employee performs advanced and supervisory work to carry out Board of Education policies and procedures related under the direction of the Superintendent.

The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time.
Essential Functions
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, Board policies, and administrative procedures
- Lead, manage, supervise, and evaluate assigned programs/staff in the district
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of districtwide policies, regulations, and administrative frameworks to support strategic goals and organizational priorities
- Direct the planning, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of high-priority district initiatives, ensuring alignment with the district's strategic plan, established performance measures, and executive expectations
- Establish and oversee enterprise-wide systems, processes, and governance structures that drive operational excellence, organizational effectiveness, and efficient execution of district initiatives
- Provide leadership in the development and execution of multi-year operational and strategic plans, including performance objectives, measurable outcomes, resource alignment, and implementation strategies
- Lead cross-functional planning and collaboration among district departments to ensure strategic alignment, effective communication, coordinated implementation, and successful delivery of shared priorities
- Oversee the identification, assessment, prioritization, and resolution of complex organizational challenges through data-informed decision-making, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Direct the development, implementation, and evaluation of district programs, initiatives, and operational improvements that advance student achievement, organizational effectiveness, and strategic outcomes
- Provide oversight of special projects, strategic initiatives, and Board-directed priorities, ensuring timely execution, stakeholder engagement, and achievement of desired outcomes
- Lead the development and maintenance of strategic partnerships with governmental agencies, educational organizations, community partners, and regional stakeholders to advance district priorities and collaborative opportunities
- Oversee contract administration, procurement compliance, vendor partnerships, and interagency agreements to ensure fiscal responsibility, operational efficiency, and adherence to district policies
- Direct the development and monitoring of assigned budgets, resource allocations, and financial plans to ensure strategic and efficient use of district resources
- Support organizational change management efforts by promoting a shared vision, fostering collaboration, and cultivating a culture aligned with district values, strategic priorities, and performance expectations
- Develop executive-level reports, presentations, briefing materials, and strategic recommendations to support informed decision-making
- Facilitate staff meetings and attend other related meetings as needed/required
- Complete local, state, or federal surveys and reports accurately and promptly
- Participate in professional development workshops and leadership training
- Create an inclusive environment with positive communication/public relations
- Perform related work as assigned or required

- Comprehensive in-depth knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of public schools
- Comprehensive in-depth knowledge of school board and administrator objectives, procedures, and organization
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local policies/regulations regarding curriculum planning and organizational development
- Comprehensive knowledge of county and school board policies, procedures, and standards
