Job summary

KXXV is part of Scripps Media, Inc., seeking an Executive Reporter to lead our newsroom into a new era of local news. You will drive daily coverage, coach reporters, and strengthen storytelling across streaming, digital, social, and broadcast platforms.

You will collaborate with leadership to shape a content strategy that prioritizes audience engagement and community impact, while ensuring ethics, accuracy, and legal compliance across all content.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Seven or more years of newsroom, reporting, or content leadership experience preferred.
• Strong storytelling, writing, and editing across digital, streaming, social, and broadcast platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and elevate storytelling across the newsroom.
• Coordinate daily coverage and content priorities.
• Maintain a constant flow of relevant, timely content across streaming, digital, social, and broadcast platforms.
• Collaborate with newsroom leadership to execute a content strategy focused on audience engagement and community impact.
• Review, edit, and coach story writing for multiple platforms with timely feedback.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen stories through enterprise reporting and innovative presentation.
• Develop and oversee workflows for multiple news programs and channels.
• Ensure all content meets high journalistic ethics, accuracy, and legal standards.
• Build trust with reporters, photographers, producers, and staff.
• Contribute to breaking news coverage and multi-platform reporting.
