The nation’s largest public radio station is hiring an Executive Producer to lead the newsroom’s podcast team, with the goal of expanding WNYC’s reach across New York City and delivering essential news and information to help make the city work for the people who live here.
This leader will be responsible for mapping out the strategic direction of NYC NOW, our thrice-daily news podcast. The right candidate possesses excellent news judgment, is a self-starter who displays enthusiasm and creativity, and is willing and able to get involved in all aspects of show production, from idea development to episode structure to editing. They are strongly collaborative, innovative, and inspire others to push the boundaries of storytelling. They are a fair, supportive, and inclusive people manager with excellent communication skills, actively fostering an environment in which great journalism can flourish and the people who make that work can thrive.
This position reports to the Director of Audio Strategy.
This is a full-time role with a salary range of $140,000-145,000 annually (plus a full benefits package). Salary offered within this range is determined by skills, experience, and organizational pay equity. New York Public Radio also offers comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with vacation time, personal days, sick time, and parental leave.
This role is based in New York City (or the immediate metro area) and operates in a hybrid capacity. This individual is expected to work onsite at WNYC’s Manhattan headquarters at least 3 days a week.
