KRIS, the E.W. Scripps NBC affiliate in Corpus Christi, seeks an experienced Executive Producer to lead our newsroom in delivering compelling journalism across platforms.

You will guide editorial vision, mentor producers, and create content that resonates with our South Texas community. You will oversee newscasts, coordinate with editors and the assignment desk, and ensure ethical standards from pre-production through air.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Journalism, Communications or related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in related field preferred.
  • 5+ years previous news producing experience preferred.
  • Prior managerial experience preferred.

  • Collaborate with editors, producers and/or the assignment desk to select stories for coverage.
  • Oversee and edit the writing of content, including teases and web headlines.

Are you a strategic storytelling leader ready to shape the news that matters most to the Coastal Bend? KRIS, the E.W. Scripps NBC affiliate in Corpus Christi, is seeking an experienced Executive Producer who will lead our newsroom in delivering compelling, impactful journalism across multiple platforms. This is your opportunity to guide editorial vision, mentor talented producers, and create content that connects deeply with our South Texas community.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Manage newscasts or local program content and showcasing across multiple platforms
  • Collaborate with editors, producers and/or the assignment desk to select stories for coverage
  • Oversee and edit the writing of content, including but not limited to teases and web headlines
  • Develop and manage effective workflow strategies and procedures for multiple programs
  • Manage pre-production to ensure quality and ethical standards and coordination between control room and design staff
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
  • BS/BA in Journalism, Communications or related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience
  • Generally, 8+ years of experience in related field preferred
  • Generally, 5+ years previous news producing experience preferred
  • Prior managerial experience preferred
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
  • Knowledge and demonstration of editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws
  • Ability to create tactics and strategies to increase demo performance in key target areas for multiple platforms
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws impacting operations
  • Flexible work hours may be required, including holidays, weekends and evenings
