Job description

Position Overview:

Do you thrive on the challenge of taking a game from a spark of an idea all the way to a thriving live game? Are you energized by leading teams in building a game from the ground up and guiding them through every phase of development? Have a lot of experience doing this? If so, Zynga, one of the largest and most innovative mobile game development studios is seeking a passionate, motivated and expert Executive Producer to join our team of highly skilled professionals who are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of mobile gaming.

This is a unique production leadership role that requires the right instincts, skills and mindset to help shape a game from its earliest stages and the operational skills to lead a team through each step of development, from early concept and prototyping through production, launch, and live operations. The EP will be the production anchor, working closely with creative and technical leaders to help guide and motivate the team and cultivate a positive team culture throughout the journey.

The ideal candidate is a decisive leader, a clear communicator, and a skilled collaborator who is equally comfortable leading early concepts and prototypes with a small team as they are guiding a large team through the rigors and complexities of a live game. Ultimately, this candidate will be an outstanding problem solver and communicator who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and be hands‑on at any phase of development from early iteration to high‑level strategic planning, team building, cross‑functional alignment and career coaching.

What You’ll Do:
  • Take a pragmatic, results‑oriented approach to project management, prioritizing flexibility and continuous iteration
  • Work with your key reports to create an organizational structure, processes, and project plan that allow the team to produce high quality work efficiently on time and on budget
  • Work collaboratively with multiple teams to proactively get results and outcomes
  • Passionately articulate goals and team principles to help form a stimulating and fun work environment and culture
  • Identify and help guide the team around potential hazards that come up through the game development process
  • Define and implement best practices, ensuring clear communication across the team and with other production leaders to set organizational standards
  • Help the game team navigate all stages of the development process
  • Help build and strengthen the communication between teams and locations
  • Own quality of the product and be the player advocate to the team
  • Coordinate and conduct post‑mortems and retrospectives to foster continuous learnings and improvement
  • Help foster a positive culture
  • Effectively communicate the core experience of your game to other parts of the Zynga organization, and help ensure that your product leverages the ideas and resources of the larger organization
What You Bring:
  • 10+ years of experience leading and guiding multidisciplinary teams through all stages of development with at least 2 games shipped as Executive Producer, Development Director or Game Director. Mobile experience preferred
  • Proven ability leading multi‑disciplinary teams to create and grow great games
  • Strong understanding of successful game titles, foundational mechanics and live‑service models
  • Extensive knowledge of and fluency in the game development process. Understands the ins and outs of game development from concept through live operations
  • Able to motivate, support and guide others to attain successful outcomes and business objectives
  • Experience with various project management tools (Jira is a plus)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong analytical skills, along with a keen attention to detail
  • Problem solver
  • Flexibility and adaptability are key
  • This position reports directly to the Divisional EP for the org
