ACCEL Schools LLC is seeking a Principal for Barber Preparatory Academy in Highland Park, MI. The role leads instructional design, school operations, and community engagement to advance student achievement and a positive school culture.

The Principal will oversee curriculum, professional development, and compliance while building a collaborative environment among staff, families, and the wider ACCEL Schools network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required.
• Advanced degree in education/educational leadership preferred.
• Principal license required with state approvals.
• Experience teaching and in urban school leadership is essential.
• Experience with accountability and compliance in public education.
• Experience coaching teachers and improving instruction.
• Familiarity with State Standards and Common Core Standards.

Responsabilités

• Lead instructional design, curriculum integration, and data-driven instruction.
• Develop and oversee school-wide instructional programs and assessment practices.
• Drive student achievement and school culture goals, including AYP targets.
• Coordinate professional development and teacher evaluation processes.
• Manage daily operations, facilities, budget, and data systems.
• Engage with parents, community partners, and district leaders.

Formation

Bachelor's degree in Education

Advanced degree in education/educational leadership

Current valid Principal license

Minimum of three years’ experience in a full-time teaching role

Two or more years of experience in school administration/instructional leadership in an urban setting

Experience in public education accountability, compliance, and related legal requirements

Experience in coaching teachers to improve instructional planning and practice

Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards
