Job summary

Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, is seeking a physician leader to direct the Primary Care Service across the medical center and community clinics in Kentucky and Indiana. The role emphasizes strong management of clinical operations, budgets, and inter-service collaboration.

The incumbent will oversee patient care quality, cost containment, and alignment with VA performance measures while supporting education and research initiatives.

Qualifications

• MD degree and full, unrestricted medical license in the US.
• Board-eligible or board-certified in a primary care specialty (Internal/Family Medicine).
• Experience leading or managing a large, multi-site primary care operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Primary Care Service at the medical center and six+ community clinics.
• Oversee budgets, personnel, equipment, space, contracts and information systems.
• Ensure cost-effective, high-quality care and support clinical, training and research missions.
