Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to lead the nursing department with strategic and operational excellence. The role ensures high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, fiscal management, and ongoing nursing staff development in a rehabilitation hospital setting.

Essential duties include budgeting, staffing, performance standards, and promoting rehabilitation nursing; CRRN certification for eligible nurses is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred or BSN with plan to complete a master's in healthcare administration or related field.
• Minimum five years of healthcare administration/management experience.
• At least two years in senior nursing leadership.
• Minimum five years of hospital management in inpatient, acute care.
• Current unrestricted RN license.
• CRRN preferred or must be obtained within two years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership of the nursing department.
• Ensure high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and manage the nursing department budget with executive oversight.
• Manage staffing plans and monitor nursing hours per patient day.
• Uphold nursing performance standards and staff development.
• Promote rehabilitation nursing philosophy and support CRRN credentialing.
• Analyze risk, quality indicators, patient outcomes and satisfaction to drive improvement.
• Oversee medical records accuracy and timely documentation.
