Job summary

Jobot in Charlottesville, VA seeks an experienced Chief Nursing Officer to provide strategic and operational leadership for nursing services within an inpatient rehabilitation hospital. This executive will oversee nursing operations, drive quality initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of accountability and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
Advanced degree (MSN, MHA, MBA, DNP, or equivalent) required or in progress.
Minimum of five years of inpatient hospital experience.
Minimum of two years of recent nursing leadership experience with 24-hour operational accountability, staffing and FTE management, budget oversight, policy and procedure development, performance management, and leading multidisciplinary teams.
Strong knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, state regulatory, and hospital compliance standards.
CRRN certification preferred or willingness to obtain when eligible.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and oversight for all nursing operations and patient care services.
Partner with medical, clinical, and therapeutic leaders to promote exceptional patient outcomes.
Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and clinical programs.
Lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Serve on key committees involving quality, education, ethics, infection prevention, and medical leadership.
Manage staffing strategies, workforce planning, and budget accountability.
Monitor patient care outcomes and implement initiatives to improve quality and patient satisfaction.
Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, and professional development.
Support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful workplace environment.
Guide nursing teams through organizational growth and continuous improvement initiatives.
