Oklahoma Healthcare in Fairland, OK is seeking an energetic Director of Nursing to lead nursing staff and ensure high-quality resident care. This role requires implementing policies, coordinating care, and maintaining regulatory compliance within a 24/7 operation.

The DON will oversee staffing plans, participate in performance improvement, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes. Strong leadership, communication, and clinical expertise are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN licensure is required for the state of Oklahoma.
• Must have a current BLS CPR card.
• RN, 5 years nursing management experience is preferred.
• Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
• Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Knowledge of training techniques for clinical staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to residents in a manner conducive to safety and comfort.
• Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures with relevant services.
• Provide nursing services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
• Establish and maintain job descriptions for nursing staff.
• Address cultural practices that do not harm residents or therapy goals.
• Recommend staffing modifications for optimal resident care coverage.
• Ensure accurate documentation of resident accidents or incidents.
• Represent nursing on committees such as Infection Prevention and Control and Quality Assurance.
• Make rounds to all nursing units daily.
• Participate in performance improvement by data collection and verification.
• Consult other departments for interdisciplinary resident care.
• Ensure head-to-toe assessments and reassessments by licensed nurses.
• Interpret test results and take appropriate actions.
• Assess residents on admission and when conditions change; document accordingly.
• Promote independence and educate residents and families on pain management.
• Contribute knowledge of residents’ conditions and observations.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment; report malfunctions to supervisor.
• Function as a team leader and role model.
• Abide by policies for Abuse Prevention.
