Job summary

Holiday Inn South Plainfield-Piscataway is seeking an Executive Meeting Manager to sell and service small group and catering events, develop new client relationships, and maintain partnerships with existing accounts. You will work closely with the Sales & Marketing team to achieve revenue goals while delivering exceptional customer service.

This on-site role requires a minimum of 3 years' hotel sales experience (event management, catering or conference services), proficiency with PMS systems

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years' hotel sales experience required - event management, catering, conference services, or sales.
  • Experience using hotel property management and sales systems (e.g., Delphi, CI/TY, Opera, Amadeus, or similar).
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a strong sales mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, respond to, negotiate, and secure all profitable room and catering business in accordance with selective selling guidelines.
  • Develop proposals and contracts outlining guest room availability, meeting and banquet space, dates, and pricing; calculate and present accurate rate quotations.
  • Prepare and distribute requested sales collateral materials to prospective clients and guests.
  • Coordinate all rooming list details with clients, including room types, shared rooms, room locations, accessible accommodations, and billing instructions.
  • Prepare and manage Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), ensuring accurate coordination of meeting room setups, food & beverage selections, audiovisual requirements, and billing details.
  • Conduct site inspections with prospective customers to showcase hotel facilities and services.
  • Attend weekly sales meetings and other scheduled departmental meetings, including tentative reviews, lost business reviews, and group pickup meetings, to support business operations.
  • Monitor event execution to ensure all client expectations are met.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue through up-selling food, beverage, audiovisual, and other hotel services.
  • Maintain accurate event documentation in the property's sales and catering system.
  • Achieve departmental goals for guest satisfaction, revenue, and profitability.
  • Build long-term relationships with meeting planners and repeat clients.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel brand standards and safety regulations.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including nights, holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
