Job summary

Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic is seeking a Chief Medical Officer to oversee Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, PA and Saint Francis Hospital in Wilmington, DE. The CMO will bridge Market management with medical staffs, lead physician relations, and guide quality and service-line development to ensure high-quality, cost-effective patient care.

The role requires completion of an accredited residency, ABMS board certification, and strong executive leadership experience.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with accredited residency in a medical specialty.
• ABMS board certification in specialty.
• MBA or MHA preparation preferred.
• 15+ years of clinical practice and 5+ years executive leadership.
• Strong communication and leadership capabilities.
• Ability to work in a complex matrix reporting environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership bridging market management and facility medical staff to foster physician relations and input.
• Direct medical staff development, recruitment, and medical director activities in coordination with CCO and Market leadership.
• Support formal medical staff functions and chair appropriate committees with Market President and Medical Staff leadership.
• Lead and participate in physician quality initiatives and continuous quality improvement across the Market.
• Set universal patient care standards and drive achievement of Trinity Health quality performance.
• Collaborate on service line development and physician engagement initiatives to expand collaboration and operational efficiency.
• Lead in physician education and problem solving to address service issues and market needs.
• Partner with Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic leadership to align clinical practice with organizational standards.
