The Executive Medical Director, Nemolizumab, Global Medical Affairs (GMA) is a key senior role in Galderma, accountable for strengthening the scientific communication strategy of first specialty biologic medicine Nemolizumab launch in
Atopic Dermatitis (AD) and Prurigo Nodularis (PN) and for creating and building the GMA launch strategy for recently approved LCM indications. This role will collaborate closely with global and regional medical teams and clinical medical experts, commercial leadership, to elaborate the Nemolizumab LCM strategy in collaboration with the external community.
The ideal candidate for the role must be equipped with deep disease area expertise, pharmacological and biological knowledge, and broad global medical affairs experience and leadership
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with global and regional medical teams and clinical medical experts, commercial leadership, successfully launching Nemolizomab in PN and AD and to elaborate the Nemolizumab LCM strategy in collaboration with the external community.
Represent medical affairs at the Nemolizumab global cross functional core team
Develop a global medical strategic & tactical plan that is both product specific and disease area focused and in alignment with commercial, clinical, research, health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) and real-world evidence (RWE) plans, translating appropriate strategies into effective medical launch and life cycle management activities.
Provide strategic input for the elaboration of the global commercial plan by being the trusted center of scientific expertise and develop an aligned medical strategic plan to support the global commercial strategy.
Develop and implement a strong advocacy plan with experts in the field, academics and professionals and/or patient associations. (Prior knowledge of and established relationships with key opinion leaders in the field of Dermatology considered an asset).
Develop a strong molecule/MOA scientific advocacy program, organizing advisory boards during major congresses with global clinician leaders to build and reinforce awareness and gain strategic insights for commercial and life cycle development strategy.
Prepare and implement a comprehensive publication plan to support an active, robust global medical communication strategy for Nemolizumab that promotes effective global dissemination of key scientific narratives.
Lead and contribute to a system of competitive intelligence and monitoring of publications. Integrate learnings into the medical strategic and tactical plans in a timely manner.
Enhance training program on the disease and competitors and ensure continuous update to assure optimal onboarding of team and of affiliate medical and commercial personnel.
Provide input into new indications development and life cycle management plan
Ensure the scientific integrity of sponsored and supported research, grant applicants, compassionate use projects, medical information, and relationships with healthcare providers and patient advocacy groups.
Ensure a patient-centric approach to development of medical strategy both for molecule and device development as well as possible services which can enhance the value proposition of the future molecule; Provide relevant feedback to market access teams to ensure optimal pricing and reimbursement strategy and inclusion of relevant endpoints in clinical trials.
Coordinate the network of affiliate Medical Leads/Directors through regular contacts and meetings.
Ensure Nemolizumab medical budget management.
Continually measure and assess the effectiveness of medical plans.
Key Qualifications
Education and Experience
MD, PhD, or PharmD
Required: Product launch experience, ideally for 1 or more biologics
Minimum of 5 years experience in Dermatology preferred
Experience in rare diseases an asset
Minimum of 10 years experience in Pharmaceutical Industry in Medical Affairs with extensive experience collaborating with commercial colleagues
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present scientific data in a credible manner.
Strong track record in developing and executing medical strategy for key markets.
Strong familiarity with all phases of drug development, including clinical development, regulatory and life cycle management.
Experience in working across and building effective partnerships between Marketing, Medical, Market Access/RWE, Research and Development/Clinical and Regulatory.
Demonstrated track record of building and maintaining a KOL network.
Experience working within an international company with a complex organizational environment and the ability to operate in a matrix team-oriented structure.
Ability to travel up to 30%
