Job summary

Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking an Executive Medical Director (EMD) to oversee multiple clinical development programs and mentor Medical Directors and Clinical Development Scientists in a fast-moving rare disease environment.

The EMD will guide cross-asset strategy, participate in global leadership meetings, and ensure robust clinical development plans from IND/CTA through PoC and beyond. Strong regulatory, scientific, and leadership abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent in Hematology.
• 7+ years of experience in clinical development.
• Has prepared documents and attended regulatory meetings with FDA and other agencies.
• Experience designing and executing multinational clinical trials.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams to define clinical strategy and trial design.

Responsibilities

• Lead 2+ program teams and oversee clinical studies and strategies.
• Represent Clinical Development on Global Program Team and Global Medicine Team.
• Develop and oversee clinical development strategy documents and regulatory submissions.
• Provide scientific input to R&D, translational, regulatory and business development functions.
• Oversee writing of CTD sections, white papers, expert opinions and regulatory responses.
• Coordinate with Global Medical Affairs, Safety, Clinical Operations and Biostatistics on study design and results.
