Job description

Make a more meaningful impact to patients’ lives around the globe

Here you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to patients’ lives. With science at its heart, this is the place where breakthroughs born in the lab become transformative medicines for the world’s most complex diseases. Answer unmet medical needs by pioneering the next wave of science, focusing on outcomes and shaping the patient ecosystem.

The Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated drug developer to shape the gastroenterology and immunology pipeline and lead innovative clinical stage programs.

In this position, you will provide medical leadership for preclinical and clinical stage assets across key indications such as UC and Crohn’s disease, spanning multiple modalities (small molecules, monoclonal antibodies, bi-specific and tri-specific antibodies, oligonucleotides). You will lead clinical development efforts, including creating development plans, designing studies, writing protocols, medical monitoring, and ensuring timely execution in collaboration with internal and external partners.

You will thrive in a fast-paced, proactive culture, being an effective team player and excellent communicator.

What you will do:

  • Lead the design, delivery, and interpretation of clinical studies, ensuring ethical and scientific integrity in compliance with GCP.
  • Provide medical strategy and expertise to research and development teams, contributing to therapeutic area strategy development.
  • Stay updated on medical developments within assigned areas and disseminate information to inform clinical plans.
  • Collaborate across early and late-stage clinical development, partner functions, and the wider organization to ensure high-quality, efficient clinical plans.
  • Represent clinical development to external stakeholders, including investigators, experts, and advocacy groups.
  • Lead regulatory communications and prepare higher-level documents.
  • Support peer review of study designs and the qualification of pharmacodynamic and disease markers.
  • Contribute strategic input for in-licensing opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MD or MD/PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline with experience in gastroenterology.
  • 10+ years of clinical development experience in immunology indications, including early clinical phases.
  • Proven leadership in cross-functional teams and results delivery.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of drug development, clinical trial design, and biostatistics.
  • Thorough knowledge of FDA, MHRA, and ICH GCP guidelines.
  • Attention to detail, drive for high-quality work, and passion for achieving goals.
  • Experience managing complex projects and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
