AdventHealth Rocky Mountain Region in Denver, CO seeks an Executive Medical Director of the Cancer Service Line to lead strategic growth across five hospitals and affiliated clinics. This physician-leader role drives access to advanced treatment, builds subspecialty programs, and expands clinical trials across the Denver metro area.
The EMD will recruit and mentor oncology physicians, align with multidisciplinary teams, and develop Centers of Excellence while maintaining clinical practice.
Qualifications
- Ten or more years of oncology (or related subspecialty) practice experience.
- Demonstrated success leading a nationally recognized cancer program.
- Board certified in area(s) of training.
- Ability to obtain Colorado physician licensure.

- Align and partner with physician leaders and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, high-quality, and cost-effective care.
- Recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing oncology physicians and subspecialists to support program growth.
- Expand and enhance clinical trials, research initiatives, and academic partnerships.
- Develop and grow Centers of Excellence across key tumor sites.
- Enhance regional referral networks and expand market presence.
- Provide clinical leadership while maintaining some clinical practice within the specialty.

Pay Range: $615,000 - $877,000
AdventHealth Rocky Mountain Region is seeking a visionary and experienced physician leader to serve as Executive Medical Director (EMD) of the Cancer Service Line. This is a unique opportunity to lead the strategic growth and development of a multi-site oncology service line across one of the fastest-growing regions in the country.
The EMD will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of cancer care by expanding access to advanced treatments, building subspecialty programs, and advancing clinical research and trials across the Denver metropolitan area.
This is a rare opportunity for a senior oncology leader to build, scale, and lead a regional cancer program while working within a mission-driven health system committed to innovation, collaboration, and whole-person care.
The Executive Medical Director will:
- Lead the strategic growth, quality, and performance of cancer services across a five-hospital system and affiliated clinics
- Align and partner with physician leaders and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, high-quality, and cost-effective care
- Recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing oncology physicians and subspecialists to support program growth
- Expand and enhance clinical trials, research initiatives, and academic partnerships
- Develop and grow Centers of Excellence across key tumor sites
- Enhance regional referral networks and expand market presence.
- Provide clinical leadership while maintaining some clinical practice within the specialty
- Visionary, collaborative, and highly credible physician leader
- Demonstrated ability to lead and scale oncology service lines across multiple sites
- Strong expertise in strategic planning, physician engagement, and program development
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and value-based oncology care models
- Ten or more years of oncology (or related subspecialty) practice experience
- Demonstrated success leading a nationally recognized cancer program
- Board certified in area(s) of training
- Ability to obtain Colorado physician licensure
- Lead & Shape Growth: Drive the expansion of a rapidly evolving regional Cancer Service Line - currently NAPBC and INCP accreditations from the American College of Surgeons and Commission of Cancer
- System Support: Partner with engaged physician leaders and a collaborative multidisciplinary care team
- Robust Infrastructure: Access to nurse navigators, care coordinators, social workers, and a strong regional network
