Job summary

La Cheim School in California seeks a Director of Residential Services/Head of Service to lead the STRTP, ensuring clinical, operational, and regulatory excellence and trauma-informed practices across facilities.

The role reports to the CEO, collaborates with clinicians and county partners, oversees licensing, budget, staffing, and quality improvement, and requires a California license and 5+ years of leadership in residential behavioral health.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, MFT, or related behavioral health field with an active California license.
• Meets California STRTP Head of Service qualification requirements.
• Minimum five years of leadership experience in STRTP or related settings.
• Experience delivering services to youth.
• Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Must have a valid California Driver License and car insurance.
• Ability to pass required tests and clearances (Live Scan, TB).

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for STRTP operations.
• Develop annual goals, strategic initiatives, and program performance measures.
• Advise Executive Team regarding residential services and regulatory needs.
• Represent the agency with counties, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Ensure collaboration with psychiatry, nursing, and school partners.
• Lead CQI and ensure strict licensing and CARF/Med-Cal compliance.
