Job summary

Ionis is seeking an accomplished clinical development leader to join Neurology Clinical Development as Executive Director. This individual will provide strategic and operational leadership for programs addressing neurologic disorders.

The role will shape Ionis’s growing neurology portfolio, build high-performing cross-functional teams, and translate development strategy into timely execution for patients and families. Travel to Carlsbad HQ and remote options available.

Qualifications

MD/PhD/PharmD or equivalent with extensive biotech/pharma experience.
10+ years in clinical drug development and leadership across multiple programs.
Experience in neurology, especially pediatric neurology, or related disorders.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership for integrated development plans, strategies and milestones.
Lead internal governance forums and external regulatory interactions.
Plan and execute clinical studies in neurology populations with clear endpoints.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to address natural history, biomarkers and outcomes.
Contribute to regulatory submissions and health-authority interactions.
Mentor and develop clinical development staff and build high-performing teams.
