Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, invites applications for the Vice Dean of Healthy Aging at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.

This senior leadership role will advance a comprehensive strategy to improve health outcomes, research, education, and community engagement focused on aging populations across Appalachia and beyond. The Vice Dean will foster innovative clinical, educational, and research initiatives, drive collaboration across departments and MHN, and position

Qualifications

MD/DO or PhD in a relevant field.
Strong leadership experience in academic medicine or research.
Proven record of scholarship, funding, and program development in aging-related fields.
Experience working in interdisciplinary and collaborative environments.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a system-wide vision for healthy aging across Marshall University and MHN.
Establish Marshall as a regional and national leader in gerontology and healthy aging.
Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate aging priorities across clinical care, research, and education.
Partner with clinical departments to enhance geriatric care delivery models.
Support development of innovative care models addressing chronic disease, frailty, and social determinants of health.
Expand aging-related research portfolio and secure federal/state/philanthropic funding.
Oversee Gerontology/Geriatrics Fellowship Program and align with curricula and accreditation.
Engage with community partners to address rural aging and health disparities.
