Job summary

MLK Community Health Foundation is seeking a President to guide the organization, align fundraising with hospital priorities, and lead donor strategy in Los Angeles. The role requires extensive leadership experience in philanthropy and governance within a healthcare nonprofit.

The President will shape strategic direction, build fundraising teams, engage Board leadership, and ensure ethical stewardship of resources to advance inpatient care and community health initiatives.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of progressively responsible experience as a development professional in the nonprofit sector.
• 15+ years building and leading staff teams to consistently positive results.
• 10+ years board development; demonstrated program initiative and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Guide the Board and Hospital executives in fundraising strategy and plans.
• Establish ambitious fundraising goals with a focus on long-term results.
• Ensure accountability for achievement of fundraising and program targets.
• Act as the Foundation’s chief fundraising officer and spokesperson.
• Identify, recruit and lead a diverse fundraising staff toward annual and long-term goals.
• Collaborate with the Board Chair and Hospital CEO to expand and engage the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
• Ensure programs and infrastructure are built to support long-term growth.
• Operate consistently within nonprofit ethics and professional standards.
