Job summary

UW Medicine Strategic Communications seeks a Head of UW Medical Center Communications to lead hospital-wide communications strategy across UWMC campuses. You will partner with the UWMC CEO and senior leaders to shape timely, accurate messaging and oversee implementation.

The role emphasizes executive counsel, high-quality editing, content creation for boards and staff, and collaboration with systemwide communications peers to advance equity and integrity in communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications or related field.
• Five years of progressive responsibility in communications leadership, preferably serving as the communications head of an entire organization.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a high-level communications strategist for UWMC across campuses, shaping strategy and overseeing implementation.
• Edit and supervise writers and content contributors to ensure high quality deliverables.
• Develop messaging and materials for the UWMC Board, employees, and external audiences.
• Support leadership as a communications chief of staff and align with systemwide strategy.
