Citi seeks an accomplished Senior Lead Counsel 1 (Employment & HR) in Tampa to serve as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor on all Employment & HR matters across Citi Businesses and Functions. The role requires proactive, pragmatic counsel with deep understanding of employment laws across applicable geographies.

The attorney will provide counsel to managers, draft and review employment contracts, navigate discrimination matters, and advise on privacy, immigration, and workplace safety.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws, regulations and practices.
• Experience with complex matters requiring issue analysis and legal solutions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to build trusted relationships.
• Bar license in good standing to practice law.

Responsibilities

• Provide counsel to Citi management on Employment & HR compliance and risk.
• Advise on employment contracts, discrimination claims, and arbitration.
• Interpret and enhance policies, ensuring compliance across geographies.
• Support strategic initiatives and product launches with legal guidance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders (Risk, Compliance, Finance, CAO, CCO) and regional leadership.
