Job summary

The Arcadian Hotel Brookline, part of Pyramid Global Hospitality, offers 264 guest rooms and 5,500 sq ft of meeting space, recently renovated, located near downtown Boston.

The Director of Finance will partner with the General Manager and department leaders to drive profitability, oversee accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance, and lead the finance team in delivering accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
• 5–8+ years of progressive hotel accounting leadership experience.
• Experience with hotel management systems such as M3, Workday, Sage Intacct, Great Plains, or similar accounting platforms.
• Experience with hotel PMS systems (Opera preferred).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the hotel's senior financial executive and trusted advisor to the General Manager.
• Develop and execute annual operating budgets, capital budgets, and long-range financial plans.
• Produce accurate monthly financial statements and ownership reports in accordance with US GAAP and company standards.
• Lead monthly forecasting and variance analysis, identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
• Present financial performance and recommendations during Executive Committee and ownership meetings.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and timely.
• Manage annual external audits and tax compliance activities.
• Analyze financial trends, labor productivity, departmental expenses, and operating metrics.
• Partner with department leaders to improve operating efficiencies and profitability.
• Provide financial modeling and ROI analysis for capital investments and operational initiatives.
