Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission seeks a Pharmacist III (Director of Pharmacy) to lead the Pharmacy department at Kerrville State Hospital. The role directs all pharmacy operations, ensures compliance with federal/state laws, and provides consultative services to clinical staff.

You will oversee drug policy, inventory, dispensing, and extended coverage, with after-hours responsibilities and participation in hospital committees. Requires a Pharm.D. and Texas licensure.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of pharmacology principles.
• Knowledge of laws and regulations for drug handling and dispensing.
• Skills in operating pharmacy software applications.
• Ability to develop policies, procedures, and budgets.
• Experience supervising pharmacy staff and ensuring competency.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and designs pharmaceutical care services for centralized and decentralized staff.
• Plans, designs, and implements policies for pharmacy operations.
• Supervises staff, conducts performance evaluations and staffing plans.
• Coordinates performance improvement activities and reports.
• Ensures compliance with TJC, CMS, TAC, and state regulations.
