Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools in Washington state seeks an Executive Director of Finance to provide strategic leadership and executive oversight for all financial and business operations. This role ensures long-term fiscal stability, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency through sound fiscal management and collaborative leadership.

The Executive Director will oversee budgeting, accounting, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, risk management, enrollment reporting, and program accounting

Qualifications

• Master's degree in MBA, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field; and/or CPA license.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, budgeting, and accounting.
• Minimum of 5 years of administrative leadership in a school district or public agency.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee short- and long-term financial plans, revenue strategies, and fiscal policies.
• Advise the Superintendent and Board of Directors on financial affairs, debt/bond management, and legislative changes.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and internal controls across funds and programs.
• Direct financial operations, audits, and risk management to ensure compliance and efficiency.
