The ED will oversee staff, ensure financial health, and advance worker, labor, and community-led justice initiatives in the Bay Area.

The role requires 8+ years in labor/community organizing and nonprofit leadership, with strong relationship-building skills and a commitment to racial, gender, and class equity.

Qualifications

• 8+ years leading labor or community organizing coalitions.
• 2+ years nonprofit leadership experience.
• Proven foundation fundraising track record.
• Ability to grow and align allied coalitions around a common agenda.
• Exceptional relationship-building and conflict-resolution skills.
• Strong leadership to coach, motivate, delegate and foster accountability.
• Advanced organizing skills: strategy, campaign planning, power mapping.
• Commitment to addressing racial, gender, and class oppression in practice.
• Integrity, credibility and dedication to mission.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall fundraising strategy, including foundation and grassroots efforts.
• Oversee coalition leadership, events, and member engagement.
• Develop shared agenda and long-term campaign strategy with the Leadership Team.
• Represent JWJSF in media and movement spaces; support campaign implementation.
• Manage HR policies, budgeting, and internal controls for sustainability.
• Supervise 3–5 staff and foster leadership development.
