Job summary

CIBC is seeking an Executive Director, Trading Credit Risk in New York to lead the US Capital Markets Risk Management team, managing an NBFI portfolio and guiding credit decisions for large hedge funds and institutional asset managers.

You will supervise analysts, collaborate with front-line managers, ensure adherence to CIBC policies, and support a strong risk culture in a hybrid work setting with on-site and remote days.

Qualifications

• Senior credit risk professional with deep counterparty credit expertise across alternative investment sectors.
• Experience leading teams and advising executives on risk matters within policy frameworks.
• Knowledge of market and credit risk methodologies and trading/financing transactions.

Responsibilities

• Manage and adjudicate an NBFI portfolio across hedge funds, private capital firms, and institutional asset managers.
• Lead a team of credit risk analysts and foster a collaborative culture.
• Collaborate with business partners to understand, assess, and monitor risk while ensuring policy compliance.
