Job summary

MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas seeks an Executive Director of Technology Gaming Compliance to shape strategy, governance, and continuous improvement of the company’s technology compliance program. This executive will partner with Technology leadership, Gaming Control Boards, Audit, Legal, and key stakeholders to strengthen compliance and minimize regulatory risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 4+ years in IT Governance, Risk & Compliance, Technology Audit, Cybersecurity Risk, or Regulatory Gaming Compliance.
• 4+ years in leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
• 10+ years of technology compliance experience in regulated enterprise.
• Professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CISM, CISSP, or PMP preferred.
• Deep knowledge of gaming regulations and standards (MICS, GLI, NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2).
• Strong executive communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

• Oversee lifecycle of technical compliance submissions and regulatory disclosures.
• Lead IT gaming audits and regulatory assessments with audit teams.
• Modernize gaming compliance through GRC platforms and automated governance.
• Advise architecture, engineering, product, and vendor teams on compliance needs.
• Establish and report compliance KPIs, KRIs, and executive metrics.
• Collaborate across Legal, Cybersecurity, Privacy, Audit, Engineering, and Operations to embed Compliance by Design.

THE JOB:
The Executive Director of Technology Gaming Compliance is a senior enterprise leader responsible for the strategic direction, governance, and continuous optimization of MGM Resorts International’s Technology Gaming Compliance program. This executive oversees technology controls supporting evolving regulatory, industry, and legislative requirements across the global gaming environment, while serving as the enterprise subject matter expert on technology regulatory matters. The role partners closely with Technology leadership, Gaming Control Boards, Audit, Legal, and key stakeholders to strengthen compliance, mitigate regulatory risk, and maintain an agile, modern, and resilient technology compliance posture.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Serve as the primary technical liaison to state and jurisdictional Gaming Control Boards, building trusted relationships and providing guidance on complex technology and systems regulatory matters.

• Oversee the full lifecycle of technical compliance submissions, system modifications, regulatory disclosures, and related documentation.

• Lead IT gaming audits and regulatory assessments, partnering with internal and external audit teams to resolve findings and drive corrective action.

• Modernize gaming compliance through GRC platforms, automated testing, streamlined workflows, and technology-enabled governance.

• Advise architecture, engineering, product, and vendor teams on compliance requirements for next-generation gaming systems, cloud infrastructure, and digital platforms.

• Establish and report compliance KPIs, KRIs, and executive health metrics, translating regulatory risk and program performance into actionable leadership insights.

• Partner across Legal, Cybersecurity, Privacy, Audit, Engineering, and Operations to strengthen governance, modernize policies and standards, and embed a culture of Compliance by Design across the enterprise.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• 4+ years of progressive experience in IT Governance, Risk & Compliance, Technology Audit, Cybersecurity Risk, or Regulatory Gaming Compliance required.

• 4+ years of experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing compliance or technical teams preferred.

• 10+ years of technology compliance experience within a large, multi-jurisdictional gaming, hospitality, or highly regulated enterprise preferred.

• Professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CISM, CISSP, or PMP preferred.

• Deep knowledge of gaming regulations and technical standards, including MICS, GLI standards, state gaming requirements, COBIT, NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2, with experience leveraging GRC and continuous control monitoring platforms.

• Exceptional executive communication, negotiation, discretion, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical and regulatory requirements into clear business decisions while fostering integrity, inclusion, teamwork, and excellence.
