Job summary

Vernon Health and Living in Indiana seeks an experienced Administrator/Executive Director to lead the pediatric and adult skilled nursing operations. You will oversee clinical, financial, regulatory, and human resources functions, building a strong team culture and driving census growth while ensuring exceptional resident care.

The role requires an active NHA license, 2–3 years of leadership in long-term care, and a proven track record in financial and regulatory areas.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license in the state of practice required
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience as a licensed Administrator or Executive Director in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
• Strong working knowledge of CMS regulations, state survey process, and long-term care operations
• Proven track record of financial management, census development, and regulatory compliance
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and retain a high-performing interdisciplinary team
• Strong communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills
• Experience with electronic health record systems and operational reporting tools

Responsibilities

• Lead all day-to-day operations of the skilled nursing community servicing pediatric and adult residents across all departments and all shifts
• Build, develop, and retain a high-performing interdisciplinary leadership team
• Foster a culture of accountability, compassion, teamwork, and resident-centered care
• Conduct regular department head meetings, leadership rounds, and staff visibility on all shifts
• Ensure all departments operate in alignment with the community's mission, values, and standards
• Oversee CMS compliance, surveys, and regulatory requirements
• Manage budget, census development, and financial performance with ownership and regional leadership
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop team members; address staff relations and compliance
