Job summary

The Economic Opportunity Council of Suffolk Inc seeks a Department Director of OPWDD Services to lead all OPWDD-funded programs, ensuring person-centered, compliant, and financially responsible operations.

Responsibilities include directing program development, fiscal oversight, and stakeholder engagement, while guiding managers and staff to deliver high-quality services across the agency portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
• Minimum 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in OPWDD or developmental disability services.
• Proven track record managing multi-program operations and diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision, direction, and oversight for all OPWDD-funded programs.
• Lead and supervise departmental managers, ensuring programs operate efficiently and effectively.
• Oversee planning, implementation, and evaluation of OPWDD programs to meet individual needs and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor budgets, expenditures, and cost projections; identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with OPWDD, Medicaid, and agency standards; oversee audits and corrective actions.
• Engage with families, officials, and community partners; communicate program updates clearly.
