Job summary

Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy seeks a strategic, collaborative Senior Director of Online Education to lead the growth and advancement of the College’s online learning portfolio.

This role provides senior leadership in the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of high-quality online and hybrid academic programs, and works across the university to support CMU’s expanding digital education initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree and 8+ years in academic program management or online education.
• Experience building and launching online programs, with in-house over external vendor transitions.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration with campus partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and program leadership for online/hybrid offerings.
• Oversee academic operations, quality assurance, and accreditation readiness.
• Partner with student services to optimize the online student experience from onboarding to graduation.
• Coordinate with marketing, IT, admissions, and faculty for program launches.
