Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) seeks an experienced Executive Director of Quality, Compliance and Data to lead organization-wide quality improvement, regulatory compliance, privacy, risk management, accreditation, and data strategy efforts.

This senior leader will guide the development and implementation of LSSI’s Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) system while partnering across programs, networks, legal, information technology, and executive leadership to strengthen service

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work or human behavior sciences.
  • Background check clearance required.
  • Appropriate professional and state certification required (LSW, LCSW, etc.).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of direct service experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience at program unit level.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to professionals in other occupational fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to relate to others, influence people, make decisions, plan, direct and/or control work.
  • Excellent organization, presentation and PC/computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, communicate, and manage the LSSI CQI System ensuring compliance and policy development.
  • Oversee contractual review processes in collaboration with networks.
  • Lead benchmarking and data use analysis across the organization.
  • Lead the organizational accreditation process.
  • Operationalize risk management across the organization.
  • Provide supervision, training, support, and evaluation for staff.
  • Demonstrate integrity and respectful conduct in all interactions.

Education

Master’s degree in social work or human behavior sciences

About The Role

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Executive Director of Quality, Compliance and Data provides strategic oversight for quality and compliance initiatives across LSSI and leads a team responsible for supporting policies, procedures, training, data use, privacy standards, and continuous improvement practices. The role also serves as the organization’s Privacy Officer and ensures appropriate safeguards are in place to protect confidential and sensitive information.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Develop, communicate, and manage the LSSI CQI System; ensuring compliance, development of policies, and procedures related to provision of services.
  • Responsible for overseeing contractual review process in collaboration with the networks.
  • Leads and establishes metrices for benchmarking and analysis as well as processes for data use across the organization.
  • Lead the organizational accreditation process.
  • Responsible for operationalizing risk management processes and procedures across the organization.
  • Provide direct supervision, training, support, review, and evaluation for assigned staff.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest and fair manner.
Additional Functions/Responsibilities
  • Ensure a workplace where employees are engaged, their dignity is valued, and they have a sense of belonging both within their specific role and within the organization overall.
  • Serve as the organization’s Privacy Officer responsible for information and data privacy. Set privacy and confidentiality policies and standards throughout LSSI and ensure compliance with those standards in support of compliance with HIPAA and other laws.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to collaboration and replication of best practices throughout the organization.
  • Participate in and direct learning experiences to continue professional growth and self-development.
  • Develop and maintain a working understanding of Social Ministry in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) as LSSI serves as an extension of the work of the Church.
  • Ensure job duties of the team and direct reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • May provide direct services or perform some of the same duties as assigned staff.

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement based out of Des Plaines, IL. Some local, periodic travel may be required. A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and valid statutory minimum liability insurance coverage may be required.
