Job summary

Mount Sinai South Nassau is seeking a Director of Pharmacy to provide leadership and operational oversight for pharmacy services on Long Island. You will translate organizational strategy into effective pharmacy operations, lead enterprise initiatives, ensure medication safety and regulatory compliance, and manage budgets and staffing across departments.

The role requires a PharmD (or BS Pharmacy) with an active license and at least three years of progressive pharmacy leadership experience, plus

Qualifications

• Pharmacist license in good standing (PharmD or BS Pharmacy).
• Minimum 3 years of progressive pharmacy leadership experience at high level.
• Experience implementing enterprise and departmental initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise pharmacy initiatives and oversee daily operations, priorities, performance standards, and escalation of significant issues
• Ensure regulatory/accreditation compliance (TJC, NYSDOH, CMS, DEA, USP), survey readiness, and policy/standards development
• Oversee high-risk processes (diversion, sterile compounding, medication security) and drive corrective actions from safety/quality findings
• Manage pharmacy budgets, expenses, labor, and productivity; identify cost-saving opportunities and develop business cases/capital requests
• Lead pharmacy automation and technology initiatives, and establish performance metrics to drive improvement
• Lead pharmacy managers and staff, overseeing workforce planning, recruitment, development, and labor/employee relations with HR
• Lead procurement, inventory, and drug shortage strategy, and ensure emergency preparedness and business continuity
• Lead governance committees, operationalize decisions, and represent pharmacy across organizational departments
• Support pharmacy education, residency programs, and precepting/mentorship
