Job summary

Emerald Heights, a premier life-plan community in Redmond, WA, seeks a Director of Nursing Services to plan, organize and direct all nursing care in compliance with federal, state and local standards. The DNS will ensure high-quality care and oversee clinical operations across the continuum of care, including skilled nursing and memory care.

Requirements include an active Washington RN license, 5+ years in long-term care and 3+ years of supervisory experience, with CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered Washington RN license required.
• Five years’ experience in a long term care facility.
• Three years supervisory experience.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Accredited Infection Control Preventionist Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and federal/state regulations for long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs all nursing services in accordance with current rules and guidelines.
• Identifies resident care needs and provides assistance within the residential health services program.
• Maintains positive relationships with residents, families, physicians and hospitals.
• Develops methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services for continuity of care.
• Participates in infection control prevention and quality assurance programs.
• Coordinates surveys with government agencies and 24-hour on-call management rotation.
