Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center seeks an experienced healthcare administrator to lead multiple departments with a focus on strategic planning, budgeting, and staff supervision. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration or Business preferred.
  • 10+ years related work experience required, plus 5–8 years supervisory/management experience.
  • 8–10 years of experience in a clinical health care setting.
  • Experience with computer systems including web-based applications and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in long-range planning and development of departmental and ambulatory divisional goals and strategic plans.
  • Appoints, develops, supervises and evaluates practice managers and clinical managers.
  • Ensures department activities meet accrediting, regulatory and reimbursement standards (e.g., JCAHO, OSHA, DPH).
  • Oversees multidisciplinary team building within ambulatory departments/services and participates in committees.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources on role definition and standards of practice; supports recruitment.
  • Coordinates program development through community-based programs, marketing, and fundraising opportunities.
  • Leads salary planning and recruitment for faculty and staff; drives quality control and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Oversees patient satisfaction surveys, monitoring, and actions to improve service levels.

Participates in hospital departmental, administrative and medical staff committees, and reports on committee activities.Develops policies and procedures for department/division. Measures success with pertinent and measurable data based on targeted goals, developed using Performance Manager Reports. Collaborates with Human Resources to enhance role definition and standards of practice for front line staff, as well as recruitmentAssists the divisional chief in the identification and coordination of program development work through community based programs, marketing and fundraising opportunities. Incorporates facilitation of additional special projects as assigned.Coordinates recruitment process of clinical and research faculty. Participates in confidential salary planning for faculty and staff. Identifies and acts on issues that affect the delivery of patient care. Quality control and improvement, performance improvement activities, monitoring, reviews, action plans.
