Job summary

Auerfarm is seeking an Executive Director to lead the 120-acre nonprofit farm and educational center in Bloomfield, CT. You will drive strategic planning, fundraising, and community partnerships while stewarding facilities and staff to advance agricultural education and youth development.

You will report to the Board of Directors and shape the organization’s future, expanding programming, fundraising capacity, and regional visibility while maintaining strong fiscal health and a collaborative

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in nonprofit or educational settings.
• Demonstrated success in fundraising, grants, and donor stewardship.
• Experience working with Boards and senior leadership teams.
• Track record of building strong organizational culture and staff development.
• Ability to balance strategic vision with practical operational execution.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership to advance mission, impact, and resilience.
• Partner with the Board to set priorities and strategic goals.
• Lead long-range planning and implement strategic initiatives.
• Oversee facilities, programs, and financial stewardship for sustainability.
• Direct fundraising efforts, donor relations, and external partnerships.
• Manage staff of ~15 employees and a large volunteer network.
