Job summary

Thrive Now Recovery Centers in Pleasant Hill, IA, seeks an Executive Director to lead our established residential treatment facility in the Des Moines market. You will oversee operations, finance, compliance, and clinical quality while maintaining a patient-centered and compassionate culture.

This role requires a strategic, mission-driven leader who can build strong teams, strengthen culture, grow the program, and align operations with regulatory requirements and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Behavioral Health, Business, Human Services, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, healthcare, residential treatment, or a comparable environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong operational leadership and performance management experience.
• Experience managing budgets, labor, staffing models, and key operational metrics.
• Experience working within a regulated healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall facility operations and performance.
• Maintain accountability for census growth, admissions, and referrals.
• Oversee financial stewardship, budgeting, and labor management.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness.
• Partner with clinical leadership to maintain high-quality patient care.
• Develop leaders and foster a constructive, recovery‑oriented culture.
• Build community relationships and drive strategic growth.
