Job summary

Bikemore seeks an Executive Director to steward its mission with overarching strategic and operational leadership in Baltimore. The role oversees staff, programs, advocacy, fundraising, and external relations, reporting to the Board and coordinating across partners to advance a multimodal transportation movement.

The ED will build cross-sector collaborations, strengthen governance, and ensure program impact while guiding day-to-day operations and technology systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in nonprofit management, community organizing, urban planning, or related field.
• Proven track record of managing staff, with retention and professional development.
• Demonstrated success in building coalitions and cross-sector collaborations.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders with empathy and sensitivity.
• Balanced mindset of strategic vision and day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update Bikemore's long- and short-term strategy; set goals and measure progress.
• Ensure programmatic excellence with rigorous evaluation and modification.
• Lead new programming and cross-sector coalitions with city partners.
• Guide policy efforts in collaboration with the policy director.
• Engage board, volunteers, partners and funders to energize the movement.
• Strengthen board governance and involvement; lead staff development.
• Expand fundraising activities and deepen donor relationships.
• Advance communications and external relations to raise awareness.
• Oversee operations, tech, HR policies and risk management.
