Responsibilities

The Executive Director acts as a critical partner to the COO and senior executives. They are responsible for all aspects of Kettering Health Wilmington including patient care, operations, financial performance, and strategic planning activities in accordance with the mission of Kettering Health. This role serves as the face and key community liaison in Wilmington and the surrounding communities. They represent Kettering Health, developing partnerships, and initiating strategies to meet these communities’ needs. With a focus on planning and executing special projects, strategic priorities and promotes growth in operational and business opportunities for KH Wilmington. The Director serves as a member for the Executive Team and provides senior leadership in operations, strategic planning and new business development that maintains, promotes, and expands business. Will direct and drive business growth efforts through successful planning, development, and implementation of strategic growth opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • Education
    • Bachelor of Science degree in a health-related field or equivalent experience required.
    • Master’s degree preferred – If not present, must be completed within 3 years of hire
  • Work Experience
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, healthcare operations, leadership or related experience in a healthcare environment is required.
    • Strong verbal, presentation, and written communications.
    • Financial reporting, budgeting, risk, financial modeling, and data analysis skills in acute care setting.
    • Demonstrate an understanding of federal, state, and private payment systems.
  • Skills
    • Ability to establish effective working relationships with patients, physicians, and fellow colleagues.
    • Excellent communication skills – both oral and written, organizations skills, ability to provide professional services to all customers.
    • Ability to strategically plan and execute to accomplish goals.
    • Solid understanding of principles of law, healthcare compliance, and healthcare and physician laws and regulations.
    • Knowledge of Performance Improvement techniques.
    • Ability to maintain records, evaluate statistical data, and to interpret and collect information accurately.
    • Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, cost accounting and data analytics to appropriately work with finance and data analysts.
    • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
