Job summary

The Assigned Counsel Program of Erie County, in partnership with DRG, is seeking an Executive Director to lead the program, advance staffing and billing reforms, and strengthen ties with panel attorneys, courts, and state officials in Buffalo and Western New York.

The next leader will drive governance, ensure high-quality representation, and guide the program's next chapter with a lasting commitment to the region.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in New York State preferred.
• Extensive criminal defense or Family Court experience.
• Proven leadership and management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Program with the Board to set priorities and goals.
• Oversee billing improvements and staff relations.
• Strengthen relationships with courts, county, and ILS.
• Represent the Program in local and statewide discussions.
