Assigned Counsel Program of Erie County (ACP) in Buffalo seeks an Executive Director to lead ACP in partnership with the Board of Directors, sustaining reforms, strengthening relationships with courts, Erie County, and the NYS Office of Indigent Legal Services, and guiding access to high-quality counsel for indigent clients.

The role emphasizes strategic and operational leadership, financial oversight, staff and panel attorney development, and collaboration across legal and administrative teams

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Significant experience in criminal defense or Family Court practice.
• Proven leadership and management experience.
• Demonstrated financial and operational management capabilities.

Responsabilités

• Lead the Program in partnership with the Board, translating its mission into measurable priorities and organizational goals.
• Keep the Board informed on organizational performance, financial health, and emerging risks.
• Guide organizational change through clear communication and collaborative leadership.
• Oversee budgets, contracts, grants, and financial oversight with the CFO.
