Job summary

Inova Health System seeks an Assistant Vice President of Support Services to provide strategic and operational leadership for Engineering, Environmental Services, Food Services, Patient Transport, Security, Parking, Safety and Volunteer Services at Inova Fairfax Hospital. The AVP aligns EOC regulatory targets with safety goals and drives service excellence across hospital operations.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and 7+ years in support services or hospital

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience (4 years in lieu of degree).
• 7+ years of relevant experience in support services or hospital operations.
• 5+ years of leadership experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and operational oversight for assigned support service departments and functional areas.
• Lead the Environment of Care Committee and ensure annual EOC goals, regulatory metrics, targets and performance measures are achieved.
• Develop and implement business strategies that support organizational priorities, operational effectiveness and service excellence.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, safety and legal requirements.
• Oversee departmental financial performance, resource allocation and operational planning.
• Partner with leaders and stakeholders across the organization to address operational needs and improve the patient, visitor and team member experience.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service quality, efficiency and satisfaction.
• Achieve annual user satisfaction survey targets.
• Ensure high-priority work orders are completed on the day issued, in accordance with established annual targets.
• Establish, review and revise performance standards; set clear expectations; provide ongoing coaching and feedback; and support accountability across assigned departments.
• Foster a culture of safety, service, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
