Job summary

Nashville General Hospital is seeking a Director of Facilities Management to lead Plant Operations, Clinical Engineering, Security, EH&S, and related programs. This senior role focuses on safe, reliable, compliant, and high-performing environments that support patient care and clinical operations.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years in facilities management in healthcare, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and a preference for CHFM certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required.
• CHFM certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive facilities management experience in a hospital or complex healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive facilities management strategy aligned with the hospital’s mission and patient care priorities.
• Provide executive-level leadership for the hospital’s physical environment and facility infrastructure.
• Oversee preventive maintenance, lifecycle planning, and regulatory readiness for life safety and environmental programs.
• Lead capital planning, construction, and oversight of facility renovations.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, NFPA, OSHA/TOSHA, and related standards.
