Job summary

Banner Health Corporate is seeking an experienced legal executive to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of standards and policies for the delivery of in-house legal services across assigned areas. You will advise senior management, monitor department performance, and ensure high-quality client service within a complex healthcare framework.

Qualifications

• JD and admission to a state bar; Arizona admission is a post-employment requirement.
• At least twelve years of experience in the practice of law.
• Experience leading in-house legal departments or law firm operations.
• Strong financial and business acumen with broad healthcare law knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and oversight of system-wide standards for legal services.
• Direct, supervise, and evaluate the legal team within budgetary targets.
• Foster collaboration with internal clients and external organizations.
• Oversee policies, internal controls, and regulatory compliance in the legal function.
• Monitor healthcare and corporate legal developments to identify risks.
• Oversee contract management and ensure timely decision-making on initiatives.
• Manage outside counsel and coordinate major litigation and transactions.
• Provide direct legal services including negotiations and document review.
• Communicate effectively with senior management and stakeholders.
