Job summary

Grand Rapids African American Museum & Archives (GRAAMA) in Grand Rapids is seeking an Executive Director to lead operations, strategy, and fundraising. You will manage fiscal stewardship, oversee staff, and drive community engagement while partnering with the board to execute a bold new strategic plan.

You will champion the organization’s mission, foster trust in Black communities, and develop sustainable revenue to support programming in a newly expanded facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years in fundraising or operations leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to build trust within Black communities and cultural competency.
• Experience collaborating with a board and community partners to develop a strategic plan.

Responsibilities

• Align with GRAAMA's mission and champion its goals.
• Build trust and cultural competency within Black communities; engage with Grand Rapids history.
• Lead fundraising - cultivate donors, foundations, corporate support; identify new revenue opportunities.
