Job summary

NextEra Energy Resources, LLC seeks an Executive Director of Gas Development to lead full project lifecycles from planning to operation readiness. You will drive strategic decisions, align objectives with business goals, manage key stakeholders, and secure resources and approvals.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in business development or related field.
• 6+ years of supervisory/management experience.

Position Specific Description

This leadership role will report directly to the Vice President of Gas Development and will be responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning and permitting to construction and operational readiness. The Executive Director will drive strategic decision-making, ensuring the alignment of project objectives with business goals, managing key stakeholder relationships, and securing necessary resources and approvals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in power plant development, energy industry regulations, and cross-functional team leadership, with a strong track record of delivering complex energy projects successfully.

Job Overview

This position is responsible for the business development functions of the Company throughout the country and/or a specific geographic region. Leaders in this role are responsible for leading and coordinating key functions of a project such as financial feasibility analysis, engineering/design, project legal review, and financial negotiations. This position plays a key role in building strategic relationships and executing major contracts necessary to support the Company’s generating business growth initiatives.
